Our firm has long supported students and recent graduates with a passion for law. We hope to cultivate young talent and give them work experience while exposing them to the practice of law, leading them to successful experiences in law school. 

Kayla Anderson 

Kayla has worked as a legal assistant and office manager for the firm since 2022. She takes a special interest in personal injury cases and previously worked at the Law Offices of Todd E. Kobernick in San Diego, which emphasized small business loans. She studied business and communications at the University of San Diego. 

Kayla is a lover of the outdoors and travel. She is a certified scuba diver and recounts diving off the Great Barrier Reef as one of the best experiences she's ever had. She's proud to have summited Mount Rainier and considers Japan — the culture, food, and skiing — to be her favorite place that she's traveled to. 

Emily Rayborn 

Emily has worked with the firm for six years and has been a paralegal in the Seattle area for 35 years, focusing exclusively on litigation, especially defense. She graduated with honors from the Edmonds Community College Paralegal Program in 1990. She also attended Boise State University and Mt. Hood Community College. 

Despite announcing her retirement, she has never gotten around to it and continues to work on cases alongside newer members at the firm. When not in the office, you can find her outside, whether it be gardening, camping, hiking, or spending time with her animals.

Alex Wilder

Alex is a legal assistant and receptionist who joined the firm in July 2023. A Seattle native, she studied history at Washington State University and graduated in 2024. In college, she was on the ski team and won an innovation award for safety and educational programming related to Greek life. She plans to go to law school and has an interest in a wide range of fields, though she is still deciding which to pursue herself. 

Outside of work, she enjoys skiing and mountain biking. This year, she's excited to finally partake in Sea to Ski, a relay race from Mt. Baker to Bellingham Bay where she will take on the sport of downhill skiing. 

Tilly Blakesley

Tilly has worked as a law clerk with the firm since July 2023 and is currently awaiting bar results. She graduated from Seattle University with her J.D. in 2024 and attended Gonzaga University, where she studied Italian and English Literature, graduating in 2018. While getting her degree, she served as the Executive Editor for the American Indian Law Journal at Seattle University.  

Outside of the office, she enjoys exercising and loves spending time with her family, especially with her baby niece. 

Claire Johnson

Claire began working as a legal administrative assistant with the firm in October 2024 after graduating from the University of Washington in 2024 with a degree in American Indian Studies. She was admitted to the University of Washington School of Law, where she will begin studying in September 2025. In law school and after, she plans to focus on K–12 education policy and curriculum implementation throughout Washington State. 
 
When not working, Claire enjoys cooking and spending time with her cats. She loves the nature of Washington and taking small trips around the state.
